Doherty’s began in 1830 when James Doherty opened his first butcher’s shop in Derry. His son and grandson continued the business and by 1945 it comprised of a small retail chain owned by Thomas J Doherty. In that year our late Chairman, James Doherty, joined his father and they began to develop the business expanding into processed beef and pork products.

James Doherty’s sons Seamus, Ian and the late Míchéal took over the management of the firm in the 1970s and 80s and the transition to a sixth generation is now well under way with Seamus Doherty’s sons James and Matthew.

Doherty’s is now one of Northern Ireland’s leading producers of chilled and frozen minced meat products, beef burgers, beef meatballs and sausages. We sell our products across Ireland and into the UK mainland.

Instructions

Cooking Instructions - General. Best cooked from frozen. Domestic cooking appliances vary in performance. The following are guidelines only.
Ensure product is thoroughly cooked before serving.; Oven cook - From Frozen. Preheat oven to 190°C, Gas Mark 5. Place product on a baking tray, with a little oil, in the middle of the oven for 20-22 minutes, turning product occasionally during cooking.; Shallow Fry - From Frozen. Fry in a little oil over a medium heat for 18-20 minutes. Turn product occasionally during cooking.
